Annie and Olive! "Little Handmade Goodness"

I am so excited about these next pieces by Annie and Olive! They are so darn cute! They're great for a small giftie, especially for that little girl in your life, or...just for YOU! The heart pendants are lovingly hand sewn using beautiful fabrics and the color choices are perfect for the upcoming fall season, or maybe just to match your favorite sweater. And check out the hair clips too...they come in so many colors it's hard to choose. Take a peek at all the handmade goodies in their shop, here are my favorites! (there were more but I had to pick only a few...)

"Falling for you....Vintage Fabric Puffy Heart Pendant" $5

Run Alice Run - Domino Magnets, Cards and More!

I fell in love with the leaf magnets from Run Alice Run on Etsy. I have such a busy fridge...and you can always use another magnet right? I will never forget when my husband and I first moved into our apartment, my cousin Donna bought us our first magnet. It said "Families are like fudge, mostly sweet with a few nuts!" I remember thinking what a thoughtful gift...lol...we promptly used it to hold up all the delivery invoices as we moved in! These magnets from Run Alice Run are not only a thoughtful gift, but they are beautiful too! Choose from so many different designs, my favorites are the leaves and of course the Asian inspired set. Take a peek in the shop, there are many more to choose from!

Bombus!

I remember taking a furniture class in art school, and thinking how cool it would be to make my own pieces, and then when confronted with all of the whirling whizzing machines...I was feeling a bit intimidated! These pieces by Bombus are a little more my speed...they are altered pieces of furniture using decoupage! Sometimes it's fabric, sometimes maps, newspaper and comics. The chair I chose to feature is the Comic Chair. I thought how cool it would be as a desk in a child's bedroom....or even at my desk for my laptop! It's a great gift for a collector...all though who knows what comics were harmed in the making of this chair...lol...anyway...take a look at the shop, they really are a lot of fun!

"Comic Decoupage Chair" $340

Allyson Hill

The next items are really something I could use in my car!!! I found Allyson Hill's shop through a main page treasury on Etsy, for a completely different item. I was constantly looking for places to put garbage in my car, and finally ended up with a plastic bag hanging off of the seat. It's definitely not pretty, but it's functional! I'd MUCH rather have one of these in my car to keep it tidy. They are car litter bags...and they come in SO many colors! This was one of those...wow...I wish I'd have thought of that!!! Take a look:

They go almost anywhere in your car!!!

Really...ANYWHERE!!!

(All images and designs are property of Allyson Hill.)

Charm Design

All though summer's not over yet, I am already yearning for those rich fall colors, so that's probably why I am posting these beautiful bags by Charm Designs. I was really attracted to the shape of the bags as well as the color scheme, and I'm a little afraid that if I post them someone else might buy them before I can! Please take a look:

Cornflakegirl and her Dolls on Etsy

I came across one of Cornflakegirl's little fawn dolls on a treasury on Etsy awhile ago, and I thought it was so cute and well done! I could easily see a collection of them on a white shelf in my studio. They are whimsical and colorful and just beautifully done. The first two are smaller dolls, and the third is a full body kitty doll. Please take the time to look through the shop, each doll has a personality all its own, and they all need homes! Here are my favorites, I kind of went with an orange theme....8)

Phenix Pottery on Etsy

I was looking for my next favorite mug and I came across Phenix Pottery on Esty. There is just something so special about a hand thrown piece, you really feel a connection to the maker, and somehow coffee just tastes better out of a ceramic mug! These pieces are beautifully crafted and the colors and small details in the clay make each one more special than the next! Please take a look at the shop, here are my favorites...I picked some casserole dishes!

These are both:
"Casseroles With Lids - Handthrown Stoneware Pottery" And are $40 each.

House of Six Cats Photography on Etsy!

A dear and talented friend of mine, after many years has finally succumbed to me nagging him to get his work out there, and opened a shop on Etsy to show off his photography work! I introduce to you, House of Six Cats Photography. (and yes, there really are 6 cats!!) Right now there are only a few images up, but you can already get a feel for the type of work he will be filling the shop with! Beautiful black and white images, that would add a touch of class to any wall. Please take a look at the shop! Here are my favorites...(so far)...there are many more!

Modern Art Everyday

First I'd like to apologize for my recent absence, I was at a wonderful wedding in Lexington, Kentucky and we were trapped at the airport for hours on the way home...totally worth every minute tho...8) Friends of ours Jay and Angelia were married on Saturday, July 28th! Congratulations to them! (here's a sneak peek below and then my regular post....)

I came across Modern Art Everyday on Etsy. I am drawn to the clean but organic lines in the pieces, and the earthy colors. My entire living room is painted Kermit the frog green and I know for a fact that these pillows would go with my couch! Take a look at their store, below are my favorites: (there are many more, but I couldn't post half the store here...8)

Flicka Bags on Etsy!

Another main page find this week are these versatile wristlets from Flicka Bags on Etsy! I fell in love immediately with the green one...and then the red...kind of a holiday vibe when I see them up together, but I was mostly attracted to the bold bright colors and patterns on them. They can also be used as a wristlet, or a clutch...and even has an optional detachable key ring...they are very thoughtful, and obviously well designed! Thanks Flicka! Take a look at the shop:

Cance on Etsy by Kelly McCollum

I found this lovely Esty shop by clicking on one of the newest items on the main page. I was instantly struck by her pencil drawings! You can choose the sizes, and if you send her photos and nicknames of your favorite animal pals, she will transform them into portraits of your best friends! Not limited to those of the canine persuasion...she is willing and able to also sketch cats, birds, gerbils or any other animals that you share your abode with! Please stop by and see Cance's shop, as she also carries some eclectic vintagey jewelry, and a few beautiful digital photos!

The price range for a pet portrait are roughly as follows:

General prices:
4x6" = $10
5x7" = $12
8x10" = $15

A small price to pay for a beautiful portrait of a most loved pet! I am thinking of having a portrait of our boys done:

"Felix"
"Oscar"

(All sketches and artwork property of Cance on Etsy.)

The Art of Andrew Daniel

I instantly fell in love with this artwork by Andrew Daniel I love bright colors and bold strokes, and the two pieces I chose below have just that. I could easily see a large copy of some of his work in my apartment...and as cards they are exciting and full of energy. Please check out the Etsy store, there is so much more to choose from!
